Created a suite of branded presentations for Kaiser Permanente, prioritizing clear and accessible language paired with engaging graphics to enhance understanding during a period of area restructuring.

Summary:

When a large, complex healthcare organization undergoes regional restructuring, how that change is communicated internally matters enormously. Clarity reduces anxiety. Good design builds trust. I was asked to design a series of branded presentations that would help Kaiser Permanente leadership communicate restructuring plans clearly and professionally to staff across affected service areas.

The challenge was threefold: translate dense organizational and operational information into visually digestible slides; maintain Kaiser Permanente's brand standards with precision; and ensure the language and graphics were accessible to a diverse, non-specialist internal audience.

Design Approach

Brand & Templates

• Challenge: Maintain strict Kaiser Permanente brand standards across a large suite of slides with varied content types.
• Solution: Built a master template system with consistent color palette, typography hierarchy, and layout grids — allowing content to vary while the brand identity remained cohesive throughout.

Information Design

• Challenge: Present complex organizational and operational changes without overwhelming or alarming the audience.
• Solution: Developed a clear information hierarchy guiding viewers from high-level context down to specific impacts and next steps. Used data visualizations, org charts, and color-coding to make complex transitions feel structured and manageable.

Accessibility & Language

• Challenge: Communicate clearly to a diverse internal audience ranging from frontline staff to senior leadership.
• Solution: Applied plain-language editing throughout to reduce jargon. Supported visuals with iconography that conveyed meaning independently of text, ensuring comprehension across literacy levels and roles.

Presenter Support

• Challenge: Ensure consistent delivery across multiple presenters in different locations.
• Solution: Formatted detailed speaker notes alongside each slide, giving presenters the context and language needed to deliver the message consistently and confidently.

Deliverables
